The port of Cesenatico dates back to the fourteenth century, built with a port it was considered a very safe harbor. In the early 1500s Leonardo Da Vinci included it two drawings, which today can be seen in Paris. Cesenatico is a canal port, which stretches along the historic center of the city. In the surrounding area there is a Maritime Museum, where there are many interesting exhibitions.
How to reach the port of Cesenatico
To reach the port by car from the north, take the A14 motorway towards Ancona. For those coming from the south head towards Bologna and take the Cesena exit. Follow the signs for the center of the town. By train take the Rimini/Ravenna line, stopping at Cesenatico where the buses leave for the center and the port. The nearest airport is Bologna, and is about 80 kilometers from Cesenatico. In addition to taxi and car hire, you can get top the port from Bologna airport by bus. The bus will take you to the central railway station where there are connections to Cesenatico every 10/15 minutes that depart from the station.
