Amsterdam is a great all year round travel destination, and Holland is a country that always offers you and your kids interesting holidays and exciting experiences. Also known as the Netherlands, when you think of Holland, you think of vast flat landscapes full of coloured tulips and people crossing canal bridges on bicycles. The capital, Amsterdam, is a lovely city, with an international vibe, which reflects its Holland’s imperial past, but there are also many other cities and towns to explore. Today we focus on the best museums to visit during your trip. Let's discover interesting places that tickle their senses and curiosity, allowing your kids to have fun while learning!
Micropia
This kid-friendly museum is located in Amsterdam, it is open every day between 9 and 6 and can be reached on public transport from the central station; on tram number 14, disembark at Artis, or by metro 51, disembark at Waterlooplein. The museum is dedicated to microscopic creatures: microbes that we have around us everywhere, but we can't see! The Micropia museum provides interesting explanations of viruses and bacteria and microorganisms, all presented in an interesting and captivating way for parents and children alike.

This one is also in Amsterdam near Central Station, open every day from 10 to 1730, it is closed on some Mondays. Children under four do not pay, but the normal ticket costs €17.50. The museum is dedicated to science and technology and children will be amazed to discover that there are five floors at this museum. Not only are there exhibitions, but also shows, films, workshops, activities of all kinds to make the whole family interact. The fundamental rule in the Nemo museum is: Do not touch!
The Hoorn–Medemblik heritage railway
This train takes you on a fantastic journey between dream and reality by transporting you to the Dutch past, to the north of the country, aboard a steam tram. We start from Hoorn and travel to the triangle of historic towns, namely Hoorn, Medemblik and Enkhuizen. Travelling aboard a steamboat and feeling the rhythm of the wheels on the tracks all the way to Enkhuizen is an unforgettable experience. The return journey is onboard an ordinary train and visits the steam tram museum, located in Horn. The little ones can take part in an exciting treasure hunt here, in a game that is all about learning and having fun.
