1. Take the first hydrofoil of the day

Capri is sea, sun, and stacks. A magical place where history and nature meet. An incredibly romantic destination and the perfect place to live the Italian dream.

Our first recommendation is to leave early in the morning. The first hydrofoil leaves from Naples Beverello at 7:55; rest assured, it's a sacrifice worth making. The last return hydrofoil is at 16:30, so it's best to arrive early to make the most of the island, and the journey only takes 55 minutes.

2. Admire the view as you stroll through the center of the island

To get around the island, you can choose a taxi, funicular, or public transport, but our advice is to walk. Get lost in the narrow streets and explore this island's unique, breathtaking views. But remember to wear comfortable shoes.

Venturing out, you will immediately see the faraglioni, the three incredible stacks: Saetta, Stella, and Scopolo. Undisputed symbols of the island, these three stacks have an average height of about 100 meters and will leave you speechless.

Head towards the island's heart, Piazza Umberto I, more commonly known as the Piazzetta, from which the many narrow streets branch off. The surrounding streets host world-famous high-fashion boutiques and elegant cafes where you can have a coffee or an aperitif with a view. We suggest trying the Caprese cake, one of the island's specialties, made with almonds and dark chocolate, and the limoncello - sublime.

For some culture, visit the Centro Caprense Ignazio, in the heart of the Piazzetta. The tickets cost only €3.00, and inside you will find four themed exhibition rooms and over 20,000 exhibits. However, remember that the museum is closed on Sundays and holidays.

3. Enjoy the view from the Giardini di Augusto

Images of Capri are enough to fall in love with it. But what if you could take that photo yourself? Our advice is to go to the Giardini di Augusto, one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the island. It is a garden of flowered terraces overlooking the sea, with the Faraglioni on one side and the Bay of Marina Piccola on the other. Admission is a symbolic cost of €1.00 except from November to March when admission is free.

4. Visit the Grotta Azzurra or go to Anacapri

You cannot leave the island without visiting Capri's enchanting caves, either on a private boat or on an organized tour. These natural monuments have always attracted the attention of tourists from all over the world throughout history.

The most famous is undoubtedly the Grotta Azzurra, which takes its name from the color of its waters. Although the visit lasts only 5 minutes, this cave offers a unique spectacle. Unfortunately, only four people can go in at a time, which means long queues outside the entrance, which is only 1 meter high. To get inside the cave, you must lie on a rowing boat, as motorized boats are forbidden, as is visiting by swimming or diving.

So why is it so famous? It starts in the dark and then opens to an incredible theater of intense blue as the sun shines in from a cavity, illuminating the seabed and crystal water full of little fish.

The story goes that Capri has been inhabited since prehistoric times and was a favorite spot for Ancient Romans, particularly loved by aristocrats and the elite. They made it a place to build luxury villas. Emperor Tiberius used the Blue Grotto as a private swimming pool and a marine temple dedicated to Neptune and Triton.

Another unique experience is Anacapri, a more authentic face of the island just 15 minutes from the Piazzetta. It is the largest residential zone on Capri and is famous for its colored streets and characteristic majolica tiles. Also, check out the Chiesa di San Michele Arcangelo and the Casa Rossa.

Furthermore, from Anacapri, you can reach the island's highest point, Monte Solaro.

In the end, Goethe was right! Naples is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. You must visit it at least once, especially when it takes only 55 minutes to reach one of Italy's most iconic (and instagrammable) places. Whether you come with your partner, family, or friend, you can't miss it.
